Save yourself the expense, mess and inconvenience of ripping out your cabinets. Explore the many possibilities of actually remodeling your existing cabinets. Not just refacing with basic doors and covering the boxes with thin veneers or Formica but using high quality solid wood doors and solid wood face frames. With my process we can use today's design details and build them over your boxes! So if you would you like new custom cabinetry without ripping out your kitchen here is what's next.

PREPARING FOR YOUR CABINET TRANSFORMATION:

Qualifying questions:

• Is your kitchen a candidate for cabinet remodeling?
• Are your cabinets dated or worn in areas?
• Do your cabinets seem structurally sound?  (Don't worry about shoddy drawer boxes or sagging shelves. These may be replaced)
• Does the general cabinet layout work well?
• Will at least two-thirds of your cabinets remain where they are now?  (Additional cabinets may be added) • 10 Door minimum -Sorry, no bathroom vanities.

If you answered yes to these questions:
• Phone (203) 438-0757 for a brief consultation with Greg Ackley. I will help you evaluate your situation and schedule an appointment if Ackley Cabinet can offer a solution

Consultation & Estimate:

• Meet with me, Greg Ackley, in your kitchen to become familiar with the possibilities. Using extensive pictures and several door samples I will help you focus on your preferences concerning looks, function and economy. During this time I will be asking about your entire kitchen project. This will be the beginning of our teaming-up your needs and preferences with my expertise. As we discuss your project I can itemize your cabinet areas and give you a detailed proposal to make your cabinets like new - inside and out. This takes approximately 2 hours.

Schedule your job:

• When you realize the value Ackley Cabinet has to offer, you may schedule your job with a small deposit. This simply gives you your new kitchen as soon as possible or you may wish to be the first job to begin in a month of your choice. Typical backlog is 12 to 20 weeks.

• I am always available to speak with you by phone should any questions arise.

Final Selections & Ordering:

• Review the proposal with me and make your final selections. Usually this is at least a few weeks later and you will have had time to progress with related work to be done (i.e. shop for appliances, talk to an electrician, etc.). We will meet shortly before I am ready to measure and design your job. The door style and finish will be reviewed along with the detailed proposal, line by line. At this time we can make changes to the proposal and have a mutual vision as I prepare to order custom parts. This can take from 20 minutes to 2 hours depending on the complexity of the job. This is the best time for me to help you organize the other aspects of your kitchen updating. Measuring by myself will follow and usually takes a few hours. This may be done the same day or we may make separate appointments for the review and my measuring, depending on your schedule.

• Once your job is measured it will take approximately 4-6 weeks for me to design, order, and have your doors and other components fabricated and finished by the door company. It is best if your materials are ready at least a week or two before your job is scheduled to begin.

Preparing your kitchen

• I will call you about a week before your cabinet remodeling is to begin to coordinate our schedules. I will make sure you have a "How to prepare for your cabinet remodeling project" sheet.. This lists detailed instructions that will help you prepare your kitchen to be in shop mode during the day. This means setting- up a mini kitchen in an adjoining room (i.e. silverware, glasses, mugs, cereal, etc.). You may plan on having half the counter tops and most of the appliances to prepare easy meals when I'm not working. I will call once or twice again to finely tune the job start time and to answer any questions that may come up.
